Neighborhood family dentist in University Hills
Smyleee Rating
Very Good
Set up on East Amherst Avenue in University Hills, Cody Dental Group runs as a general-dentistry practice set up for the everyday work most patients actually need. The clinic is built around the day-to-day work — not boutique marketing — and serves adults and kids in one familiar place. The shape of the practice fits patients who want a clear conversation about what's actually needed, with treatment staged around real priorities rather than a one-shot proposal on the first visit. If you're scoping a University Hills dental option, this is a sensible practice to put on a short list of candidates and book a first visit with.
Service coverage spans the standard general-dentistry breadth: routine cleanings and exams, tooth-colored fillings, crowns and bridges, root canal treatment, basic extractions, and gum-disease management. The practice also handles after-hours emergency dental visits for cracked teeth or sudden pain when patients need them, alongside the routine preventive work. Restorations lean conservative — composite material rather than amalgam — and most needs are kept in-house, with specialty referrals reserved for cases that genuinely call for them rather than offered up front.
If you've recently moved into the area and want a no-drama dental home for the whole family, this is the kind of practice where booking a first cleaning is a reasonable opening move.
Cost positioning sits in the typical Denver general-dentistry range, with most major insurance plans accepted and clear pretreatment estimates before restorative work begins. Patients searching for family dental practice in Denver, routine dental care in Denver, or general dentist near me in Denver commonly land at neighborhood practices like this one — generalists rather than narrow specialty offices. It suits families wanting consistency over many years, patients who value predictable scheduling, and anyone who'd rather have one trusted dentist see the same teeth across decades than rotate through a corporate group practice. The University Hills location works for patients already running errands in this part of Denver, and parking and transit access tend to be straightforward for the surrounding blocks.

I never leave reviews but this one was worth it to save people time and hassle. Dental hygienist was nice and personable but dentist himself and the front desk is the most incompetent group I’ve ever had the displeasure of working with. Felt like the dentist was using fear mongering tactics our entire conversation and between him and the front desk they were seemingly incapable of filling a simple prescription at a local pharmacy after being the ones to offer it to me. Decided to look into reviews more after the pharmacy experience and realize I should’ve stayed away as you should too. Horribly run office and just overall suspect vibes. Only good news was it was easy to cancel my appointment.
Dr. Huber is fantastic! I had a referral to a different periodontist from my dentist and I didn't like the invasive gum treatment he wanted to do. I asked for another recommendation for another Periodontist and was so glad they sent me to Dr. Huber! The grafts were very successful, much less invasive , and I healed quickly. He saved me from losing my implant and 4 of my bottom teeth. Dr. Huber even called a few times to check on me after my surgery. I highly recommend him!
If you’re a new patient and you scheduled an exam and a cleaning, don’t count on it. Especially if you need to pre-medicate before your dental work. I got to my appointment and they tell me the cleaning cannot be done, this is after I confirmed multiple times with the appointment. I have already took my medication and then they can’t do the cleaning. I would not recommend this place for someone who’s looking to establish dental care. Clearly they don’t care for the patients.
We've been with Cody for over 10 years and have had a great experience. I love my hygienist, Michelle. She always has great conversation and makes me feel very comfortable!
Petina was excellent. She patiently dealt with a number of technology and equipment issues during ex-rays. Her professionalism was beyond reproach. I requested her for my next appointment. There were many administrative issues that concerned me. I sent all of my dental records including recent ex-rays from my former dentist office last week. They were not included in my file. I also provided new patient information long before my appointment, including insurance coverage. Upon check-out the insurance coverage was not applied to the appointment charges. Fortunately I asked what my insurance covered and the response was, "Oh, you have insurance? Now I see it." If you would like to further discuss these administrative issues, don't hesitate to call me.
