About Advanced Dental Center
Advanced Dental Center is located at 8517 Preston Highway in Okolona, a Louisville Metro neighborhood in the south end of Jefferson County, Kentucky — a general dental practice on Preston Highway in one of Louisville's established suburban communities south of the Watterson Expressway (I-264). Okolona takes its name from a former independent community that was annexed by Louisville Metro over the decades, retaining a distinct neighborhood identity within the sprawling Louisville Metro government area that consolidated city and county in 2003. Jefferson County ZIP code 40219 encompasses Okolona's core residential and commercial zones.
Advanced Dental Center provides comprehensive general dental care for adults and families in Okolona and the surrounding south Louisville Metro communities. Core services include comprehensive oral examinations, professional dental cleanings, dental radiographs, and restorative procedures — tooth-colored fillings, dental crown restorations, and denture fabrication — for patients managing dental health in this established Louisville neighborhood. The practice name "Advanced" signals a commitment to modern dental techniques and equipment, distinguishing the practice from more traditional solo offices by suggesting investment in current clinical technology appropriate for a Louisville Metro market that includes both established neighborhood practices and newer multi-specialty group models.
Preston Highway's Okolona position connects to the wider Louisville Metro dental market via the Watterson Expressway interchange and the Gene Snyder Freeway (I-265), giving Okolona-based patients access to specialist orthodontic, periodontic, and oral surgery providers throughout Jefferson County. South Louisville's dental market is active, with multiple independent and chain dental practices serving the Preston Highway, Outer Loop, and Fern Creek corridors of Louisville Metro's southern residential communities. The I-65 corridor to Shepherdsville in Bullitt County provides additional patient access from the south.

lmao $55 for cancelling an appointment the day before. no thanks. i’ll go elsewhere.
I was there for over 3 hours just for a consultation almost fell asleep 3 times. Way over priced and too many people working there not concerned about customers just themselves.
Great people! Super patient and kind.
Very friendly and professional. Made us feel at ease. Highly recommend.
Advance Dental Center has the perfect name they have advance technologies! The best dental doctors, hygienist & staff , they made it painless for me! I had a deep cleaning done.
Called Tuesday evening (5-26-2026) around 5:00. They were able to get me scheduled Wednesday (5-27-2026) at 8:30 for a cracked tooth. Arrived early and got checked in. The Dental Assistant was training a new employee (I was told this was happening and was fine with it). They explained everything they were doing and it took a bit longer because of the training. They were very professional. When the Dentist came in she introduced herself and was also very professional. I was told I needed a root canal and they could do it same day. Well with my anxiety and fear of dentists we scheduled it for the next day. This was my first time here and I have made the decision to make this office my permanent dentist for my family and I. Everything was explained to me. The cost after insurance was told to me. I go on vacation next week and o am so grateful they were able to get me in so quickly and fix this issue before I leave for vacation. Everyone was so professional. They even called me shortly after I left to let me know medication was called in for my next day appointment (I need strong anxiety medication for dental procedures). I found my new dentist office. I have even told co-workers about this dentist. Keep up the amazing work and professionalism.
Showed up today for my 11:30am appointment. I paid for my fillings and was told to be seated they'd be with me shortly. I was called back up to the front and told that the dentist was "heavy in a dental implant procedure", and wouldn't be able to see me. They said because I had not confirmed my appointment 24 hours ahead of time, they are able to book overtop of my appointment. Checked my messages and turns out I did confirm, at 11:59am the day before. So 29 minutes late and my appointment time had gone to someone else. Nobody called me once I had confirmed my appointment to let me know I wouldn't be seen. Nobody called me in morning before I made the trip all the way into the office to let me know that the Dentist was booked. I chose this date specifically because it was the only day I had childcare. They don't even tell you about this "office procedure" when you book your appointment. If you're looking for an office and dentist that will be respectful of your time, please, go somewhere else. Or you could end up like me, waiting for a refund for services I was never going to receive. 🙄
I came here as a new patient, and while the staff was pleasant, my experience overall was very disappointing. I scheduled two dental cleanings and was given a generous cost estimate that included additional services not covered by my insurance. I understood that insurance wouldn’t cover everything, and I prepaid a large amount before my appointments. What frustrates me is receiving a bill two months later saying I owe even more—despite already paying a substantial amount upfront. When I called to clarify, the front desk repeatedly told me that my insurance “covered less than expected” and that the amount I paid was only an estimate. My biggest question is: did they not actually run my insurance beforehand? When I visit my primary care doctor, pharmacy, or any other medical provider, they run my insurance and the price I’m told is the price I pay. I don’t understand why this office operates differently. Please read other reviews—this seems to be a recurring issue for many patients. I will not be returning to this overpriced and unprofessional establishment.
The dentist was so personable and friendly as well as the whole staff. Really went above and beyond to help me resolve my issue. Emily and Hailie ,I can't say enough about how nice they were .My dentist was so knowledgeable and a pleasure to meet. Oh , the girl who did my scans was also so polite. This crew at the .Preston location must really enjoy their work. So good to have such a good experience at a dentist office. Thank you all so much.
I was very impressed with the cleanliness, bright atmosphere, and friendliness of the office. The staff were excellent and it was a pleasure to meet everyone. Tabby did an excellent job at of making me feel comfortable. She informed me of the process, which I appreciated being a first time patient.
I'm a new patient here who hasn't been to a dentist in a long time, partially because dentists often make me nervous. Now that I've finishied my first visit, I won't be nervous about my future visits. Everyone here is very kind and seem passionate about what they do. I left feeling very confident about putting my dental health in their hands.
I have a broken tooth up at the top of the left side of my mouth and it just so happens that the wisdom tooth on the bottom of the left side of my mouth is trying to push through as well all at the same time. It hurts to eat, drink, sleep, kiss my kids and my fiance and pretty much anything else that involves my mouth. I explained this to the people here when I was on the phone with them trying to schedule an appointment. I told him that I needed at least to possibly three teeth extraction and why. They said that they would have to do an exam first which I agreed to and lo and behold the exam showed exactly what I had told them. I drove an hour from my appointment and then sat in there waiting room for over an hour. At one point I went up to the lady at the desk halfway through this waiting period just to check on progress and explained that I was supposed to be in at my appointment time and that I didn't want them to take a look find out that I was right and turn around and not be able to do anything because they were closing. The dental hygienist who brought me back was very rude and standoffish the entire time. The dentist who saw me explain to that the roots of the wisdom tooth were infected and were also right up against the nerve so they needed to refer me to an oral surgeon to have it removed and also pointed out that the top tooth could be extracted in the office. The dentist asked if I would like it removed there in the office or wait until the surgeon who's doing the wisdom tooth could do it. I said go ahead and do it now so that way it at least eliminates half of my pain. The dentist said okay let me check something and then left. A few minutes later the dental hygienist came back to the room and was trying to tell me that they were going to be scheduled for the same day which confused me because I had just asked for the extraction to be done. When I asked why can't the top tooth be extracted now she said we don't have time. It's important to emphasize once again that I was there on time they made me wait over an hour and in that span of an hour I saw four different patients leave. When I explained all this the dental hygienist wanted to tell me that I only scheduled an exam at which point I pointed out to her that no I was told I had to have an exam I scheduled an extraction. I then asked what was I supposed to do about the pain and the dental hygienist tried to argue with me that she was prescribing amoxicillin which is a painkiller. It is clear to me that this staff is clueless and I would recommend that you stay far away from them because I will never go back. My sister is a dental hygienist up in Ohio my cousin is a dental hygienist down in Florida this is not the way things are supposed to go so here I said still in all this pain and they did nothing to help. They should be ashamed of themselves.
