I LOVE IT AT AKRON FAMILY DENTAL

I was a little apprehensive about coming back to this dentist because of my past experiences. I heard they were under new management so years later I returned. Again my dental experience was very unpleasant. Let me start by saying the staff in the front were very patient and professional. I was able to be seen the same day, get checked in and get an x-ray exam in a very reasonable amount of time. The dentist that I had the consultation with was rude and particularly uncaring. Dr. Connor Tuvelle. I am not sure of the spelling but he had fire red hair.(natural hair color I assume) His response to my concerns were very, very un-professional. He was very dismissive and judgmental. He talked over me. I had questions concerning my care and my health. He overlooked my concerns and seemed more concerned with the billing aspect such as who was going to pay the cost for my care, and how it would be billed. I have dental insurance through my employer so it should not have been an issue. To top it off, The dental assistant was behaving like a security guard. I never raised my voice before, during or after the initial recommendation/consultation for my dental care. This dental visit was far the worst!!! I would definitely NOT recommend anyone to see this dentist. He is very self serving, and does not care for the people who he is supposed to be helping!! It took a lot for me to come back and I hate that I did!

I had to edit my review unfortunately. I have been coming here for as long as I can remember and I have brought multiple people to this practice. I started back with Dr Rosenthal and thought he was wonderful. I have had a few not so great experiences here but everyone has a bad day, so I focused on the good ones. However... After what I have seen with my daughter the last year, my other daughter today.. and with a good friend of mine 2 years ago, I will no longer return and either will any of my family. If you make a mistake, you should own it. And the response to her review was childish and unprofessional. I am disappointed. We will all be finding a new dental office. Complaining when something is done INCORRECTLY is NOT harassment. She came back multiple times to ask for help and yet its been DOCUMENTED that neither issue was ever fixed. And I do not need you to advise MY insurance company. I did that before you even read the review! Im extremely disappointed in your attitude and response. I have sent multiple people to your practice AND stuck up for you multiple times because people make mistakes but THIS ISNT A MISTAKE. This is just rude and unprofessional. This conversation is done. How sad.

Honestly the very worst dentist experiences I've ever had. You will not feel respected or cared for- the workers just seem over it half the time. Unprofessional and just not good at their jobs. I was there for 5 hours with my mouth propped open by bite blocks, so long my jaw was aching terribly, the dentist was leaning into my hair instead of being on the side of me, 5 different people had their hands in my mouth because no one could figure out how to make my temporary crown work, they broke it multiple times and had to start over, I had to be renumbed 2x, hit my nerve with the needle once so my right eye was stuck open, talked to each other about random life experience and joked like I hadn't been there 5 hours and was missing work, barely addressed me at all or tried to explain how they were going to fix the issue they kept causing. This is just one experience. When I went back to get the temp removed, the crown they measured for didn't fit because they did it wrong so I spent 2 months chewing on one side of my mouth only to go back, it not fit, them struggle AGAIN to figure out how to make a temp, and have to go another 2 months with one side of my mouth. They kept telling me it was good and I kept telling them it was not. They'd try to send me home anyway and it would literally fall out of my mouth before I even left the chair. They are TERRIBLE. And then the lady at the desk that deals with finances had an attitude with me when I asked if they were taking anything off of the bill given how many mistakes they kept making and how much work I missed being there for hours at a time every time. She literally dismissed me mid conversation and just said, "yeah, okay, you have a nice day". The funny thing is I didn't even have an attitude after all of that- kept my calm and just asked if there was anything they could do given how bad the situation had been. To end this nightmare, they never got the new crown to sit properly so now I have a half assed misshapen crown in my mouth that very well might fail and already started forming a cyst of some sort once, right by it. They reccomended this crown as the best solution, drilled too far, couldnt make it work, and then told me I'd probably lose the tooth entirely. They are the dentist from you know where. I would NOT reccomend. That isn't even all of the horror story either- I have to find a new dentist to fix the mistakes they made. Do with that information as you will. I think you can tell by their response to this review, they have no real excuse, and are quite childish. "The way you act" is interesting. I actually just got back from my new dentist, wonderful place, and they fixed the issue I went to AFD for multiple times to no avail. Turns out that when they went to refill an old cavity, they filled over top of it. So, I had old metal filling under the new filling causing tooth decay and pain. Lovely. They even handed the metal to me, haha. The public *will* decide but truly, try to find somewhere else.

Listen I have had the worst experience with Dentists but finding Akron family dental was amazing! They are so thorough so patient and helpful... They just have this incredible way of making you feel comfortable almost like you're at home! I continue to go back and I bring my children 10 out of 10 I recommend this place out of any other dental office

My son had to get four teeth pulled due to wanting his braces to be affective so 4 perfectly not decayed teeth but the dentist and the assistant made the experience so effortlessly and smooth. The dentist communicated with my son the whole time to let him know what he was doing and the experience was wonderful for me and my son and we so appreciate it. Also the front desk people were polite and helpful😊

Well I was pleasantly surprised 😮 on how very Smooth my visit was!! Being that Doctor Lard was the only Dentist there. He was Sooo Very Calm!!! With a Great additude!! And Such a Very Nice Person!!😊 I also thought that Kerstin? Lol was So Helpful, and Such a Very kind person!!! ☺️ Just a Great Experience Today!! They had me in and out in a Great Timely manner.
