About Dental Concepts & Orthodontics

In the Las Colinas area of Irving, Texas, on North MacArthur Boulevard, Dental Concepts & Orthodontics offers an unusually broad range of care, bringing services under one roof that many patients would otherwise have to seek at separate offices. At its core is general dentistry, with cleanings, exams, fillings, and preventive work that keep patients healthy. But the practice stands out for pairing that everyday care with orthodontics, giving children and adults a place to straighten their teeth without a referral elsewhere.

The orthodontic side means patients can address crowding, gaps, and bite issues right where they already receive their routine care, which simplifies treatment for busy families. Alongside this, the office provides cosmetic dentistry, including teeth whitening to brighten a dull smile and porcelain veneers to reshape chipped, gapped, or discolored front teeth. Together, the orthodontic and cosmetic offerings give patients several paths to the smile they want, whether through alignment, aesthetics, or a combination of both.

For patients facing missing teeth, dental implants provide a durable, natural-feeling replacement that restores chewing and the look of a complete smile. The practice also offers sedation dentistry, a meaningful option for nervous patients or those facing longer procedures, helping them stay comfortable and relaxed throughout treatment. This focus on comfort can make a real difference for people who have avoided the dentist out of anxiety.

Emergency dentistry rounds out the services, ensuring that a cracked tooth or sudden pain has somewhere to turn quickly. Dental Concepts & Orthodontics suits families and individuals who want comprehensive care, from braces to implants, in a single coordinated practice. The team emphasizes clear communication and patient comfort, working to make even involved treatment feel manageable. Whether the visit is a routine cleaning, an orthodontic consultation, a cosmetic refresh, an implant, or an emergency, the office aims to be a versatile dental home for the Las Colinas community in Irving. For families who would otherwise bounce between specialists, having braces, implants, and comfort-focused sedation in one Las Colinas office is a genuine simplification.

Dental Concepts & Orthodontics is in the Las Colinas area of Irving, Texas, on North MacArthur Boulevard, combining general and cosmetic dentistry with orthodontics, implants, sedation options, and emergency care.

Today was amazing and seamless! Hady was the absolute best. And so was Dr. Barnes! She is a very gentle doctor. I didn’t experience any discomfort while working with her. Also, Hady is very gentle and knowledgeable and helpful as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience today!

I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Dental Concepts during my Invisalign follow-up appointment. This was my first follow-up since receiving my Invisalign trays about 2 to 3 months ago. When I arrived, I was told for the first time that I was supposed to bring my Invisalign boxes back to every appointment. No appointment reminder stated this, and I was not given a clear written handout at my initial appointment explaining what was required for future Invisalign visits. This was especially frustrating because at the end of my first Invisalign appointment, I specifically suggested that the office provide patients with a handout outlining Invisalign expectations, including what to bring to appointments. That would have prevented this entire situation. Instead, I drove through Dallas traffic, wasted my time, and arrived for an appointment that could not move forward because of information that was not clearly communicated. When I became upset and asked for the doctor, an assistant was sent in instead. I explained that I did not need to speak with her and asked again for the doctor, but she continued trying to talk to me even after I asked her to stop. Dr. Barnes eventually came in and was not rude, but instead of fully listening to my concerns, the focus was placed on the fact that the instruction was supposedly “on the box.” Having something printed on a box is not a substitute for clear instructions, a written handout, or an appointment reminder telling patients what they need to bring. My biggest issue was with the office manager, Catia. When I spoke with her about my refund and explained that the office should add a reminder message for Invisalign patients to bring their boxes back, her response was dismissive and sarcastic. She said maybe I could show them how to do it since she was not IT. I told her that it was not my job to fix their office’s communication issues. I also reiterated the importance of providing a handout at the end of the initial appointment so patients know what is expected. At that point, Catia asked me to leave. I told her I was leaving anyway and that there was no need to imply that she was putting me out. She then stated that they did not have to “baby” me with a handout. That comment was extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, and unnecessary. A written handout is not “babying” a patient. It is basic patient communication and customer service. To make matters worse, another staff member, a white female employee, attempted to confront me about the way I was speaking to Catia instead of focusing on how the office had failed to communicate basic Invisalign instructions. At that point, I had already asked Catia to stop talking to me and to process my refund. I told the employee to get out of my face because I did not need another staff member escalating the situation or inserting herself into an already tense interaction. Dr. Barnes was not rude, and Dr. Narav Patel was not rude either, but the overall office experience, communication, and handling of my concerns were unacceptable. Catia’s attitude and comments escalated the situation instead of helping resolve it. I requested a refund, and it was agreed that ending the relationship with the office would be best. Dental Concepts needs to improve how they communicate Invisalign requirements, add clear reminders to appointment messages, provide written instructions to patients, and train front office leadership on respectful communication and de-escalation. Patients should not have to waste time, drive across town, and then be dismissed, insulted, or confronted by additional staff for asking for basic instructions and accountability.

I had such a great experience at this dental office! From the moment I walked in, the front desk receptionist was so welcoming and helpful, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. Maria, was incredibly kind, professional, super sweet, and she made me feel very comfortable during my visit. Nisha was also amazing, patient, caring, and attentive throughout the appointment. A special thank you to Dr. Barnes for providing outstanding care, and taking the time to explain everything clearly. You can truly tell the entire team cares about their patients, and creating a positive experience. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a friendly, professional, and caring dental team!

Dr. Patel and his team went above and beyond my expectations. I needed an emergency root canal and was amazed at how quickly they responded. I especially appreciated the use of advanced technology and the clear communication while reviewing my treatment options. Since I have dental anxiety, they ensured I felt comfortable throughout the process. Their genuine care and passion for their work are evident. If you're seeking a new dentist and want a relaxing experience rather than a typical dental visit, I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with Dental Concepts. You won't be disappointed! Thank you Dental Concepts for all that you do! 🙂

Dental Concepts exceeded my expectations! I felt welcomed from the moment I stepped through the door. Bayley is the sweetest and most polite receptionist I have met in a while. Maria and Dr. Patel are very kind and knowledgeable. I also spoke with Nisha during my visit and she was so professional. The office looks brand new and is decorated very well. I have recommended this office to my family.

The office is really nice, and so are the people! Everyone there seems to be in a good mood and has a positive attitude. Very relaxing environment. I have a wisdom tooth removal tomorrow and I know for a fact I will be comfortable when they are operating!

I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now, and the service has always been excellent. They truly take the time to pay attention to every detail and treat you like more than just a patient — they make you feel valued and cared for. I recently switched my kids over as well, and I’m so glad I did. They went above and beyond for my son, who was a little nervous. The entire staff made sure he felt comfortable and at ease the whole time. They turned what could have been a scary experience into a positive one. I’m so thankful for everyone there and the genuine care they show to their patients. Highly recommend!
