About Dentistry at The Heights

Dentistry at The Heights is a restorative and prosthetic dental practice on Joralemon Street in Brooklyn Heights, New York. The office concentrates on rebuilding damaged, worn, and missing teeth, helping patients restore both the function and the appearance of their smile.

The practice focuses on the treatments patients need when teeth have been lost or significantly compromised. Dental implants replace missing teeth with a fixed restoration anchored in the jaw, while dentures offer a removable option for patients replacing several teeth or a full arch. For patients with extensive wear or damage across many teeth, full mouth rehabilitation brings these treatments together into one coordinated plan that addresses bite, function, and appearance as a whole.

Prosthetic dentistry is central to that work — designing and fitting crowns, bridges, dentures, and implant restorations so they fit comfortably and look natural. Treatment of this kind is usually planned in stages, and the practice works through each step methodically so patients understand the sequence and the expected result before the work is completed. A focused restorative practice can give this type of complex treatment the planning time it requires. Before any work begins, the office assesses the condition of the remaining teeth, the bite, and the supporting bone, so the proposed plan reflects what will hold up well over the long term rather than only the fastest fix.

The Joralemon Street location in Brooklyn Heights is convenient to Downtown Brooklyn, Cobble Hill, and DUMBO, and is reachable by several nearby subway lines. Great dentists accepting most insurance. Only problem is bookkeeping (located elsewhere) does not process insurance correctly.

Dr. Doksanoglu and her team were very kind and warm. She took a lot more time than other doctors or dentists I’ve seen before, she truly cares for her patients. Thank you to the team!

I had a great experience at Dentistry at The Heights. The staff was respectful, professional, and friendly throughout my visit. I came in with tooth pain, and they took the time to listen to my concerns and explain everything clearly. The care I received was excellent, and they helped relieve my pain quickly. I felt comfortable and well taken care of from start to finish. I highly recommend Dentistry at The Heights to anyone looking for quality dental care.

Worst dental practice I’ve ever been to. Every single time I dealt with this office, it felt like I had to fight not to be overcharged. My experience was incredibly stressful and frustrating. They recommended a procedure, and before agreeing to it, I specifically asked them to check whether it was covered by my insurance. They told me it was covered, so I went ahead with the treatment. Then, about two weeks later, I received a massive bill in the mail for the full amount of the procedure. I had to call them myself to ask what was going on. They told me my insurance had said it wasn’t covered, but then also said it looked like it actually should be covered and that they would appeal it. My question is: why did I have to call to find that out? Why was I sent a bill instead of them handling the appeal or notifying me properly? Then another month went by, and I started receiving texts saying my account was overdue and could be sent to collections. One message said I needed to pay within 48 hours or it would go to collections. I called again, and they told me not to worry about those messages because they were still waiting on the appeal. That is completely unacceptable. No patient should be told not to worry about collection notices while the office is supposedly still handling an insurance appeal. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had with any healthcare provider. The communication was terrible, the billing process was stressful, and I would never use this practice again. There are plenty of good dentists in the area. I strongly recommend going somewhere else.

Avoid at all cost!! Went to this dentist for the first time since it was close to my home. They were super kind and I asked about getting a set of retainers since I had lost mine. I gave them my insurance and they quoted me $250 with insurance. Steep but paid it anyways. A few months later I get a bill from my dental insurance that they declined it and have to pay an additional $250. Upon looking at the bill, it stated a dental code D8680 that “included removal of braces.“ So I called AND emailed them that this is wrong, I didn’t get braces removed. Additionally I would’ve never gotten the retainers if I knew it would be DOUBLE the price. THEY DID NOT GET BACK TO ME. Went to the office in person, they said they’d take care of it but still months later I continue to get messages from their billing office and now got a message that they’ll be sending my bill to the collection agency. I just paid it so they’d get off my back and hope to never contact them again. Needless to say, I will not be coming back and urge others to avoid their predatory practices.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Care and Service! From the moment I walked in until the moment I left, I was treated like family. I cannot recommend Dr. Wismer and her team enough! After a painful and unpleasant experience with a previous dentist, I was anxious about needing a crown for a newly chipped tooth. Finding a trustworthy dentist isn’t easy, but the staff at Dentistry at the Heights made me feel completely at ease from start to finish. They checked on me throughout the procedure, offered a blanket for comfort, and even prepared my crown during the same visit — which was really important to me since I have a very busy work schedule. I was running late, and they kindly adjusted my appointment time without any hesitation. If you have a busy schedule or just want a team that genuinely cares, I highly recommend this team for same-day crowns or any dental service. They truly go above and beyond for their patients. Thank you, Dr. Wismer and the entire staff, for such outstanding care!
