About Duke City Pediatric Dentistry
Duke City Pediatric Dentistry is a children’s and pediatric dental practice located at 8220 Louisiana Blvd NE, Suite A, in northeast Albuquerque, New Mexico. The office serves the 87113 zip code and surrounding areas, focusing exclusively on dental care for infants, children, and adolescents.
Pediatric dentistry covers the full range of dental care designed specifically for young patients, from an infant’s first dental visit through the teenage years. Preventive services for children include professional cleanings, comprehensive exams, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants applied to back molars to reduce the risk of cavities in the deep grooves of developing teeth.
Restorative pediatric dental care addresses the unique needs of primary (baby) and permanent teeth in growing patients. Common restorative procedures include composite fillings for cavities, stainless steel or tooth-colored crowns for significantly decayed primary teeth, and extractions of primary teeth when they cannot be preserved or are impeding normal development. Space maintainers may be placed following early tooth loss to preserve room for incoming permanent teeth.
First dental visits for young children typically focus on introducing the child to the dental environment in a calm, age-appropriate way alongside a basic examination and cleaning. Establishing a comfortable relationship with dental care early in life supports long-term oral health habits. Parents are typically involved in the visit and informed of the child’s dental development at each appointment.
Louisiana Blvd NE in the 87113 zip code is a primary commercial corridor in northeast Albuquerque, with the practice accessible to families from the Journal Center, Paradise Hills, and Balloon Fiesta Park neighborhoods, as well as communities along Paseo del Norte NE and the northern Heights area.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child’s first dental visit occur by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth erupting. Establishing dental care early creates a foundation of familiarity with the dental environment and allows the provider to monitor development from the beginning.

We absolutely love Duke City Pediatric Dentistry! My son has severe anxiety and also sound sensitivity. He as been going to Duke City for about 10 years and they always have made him feel safe and taken great care of him and his teeth - he is now almost 16!
Dr. Coffman was an amazing individual to work with! But I have to give the biggest props to her dental assistant, Ashley! As a father whose child has ASD, she was the most patient and understanding professional any person could’ve asked for. She was calm when explaining things to my daughter and made sure she felt heard and safe. Thanks Ashley and Dr. Coffman!
Best dentist for my kiddo. They care and go the extra mile. She saved my kiddos teeth from the beginning, 10/10 recommend
Dr Coffman was amazing and so kind and patient with my son. She let me know exactly what to expect from the visit and answered all of my many questions. I love that we found this place for him and I know he will feel safe going back for checkups.
My daughter had her first dental appointment, and she thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The staff was incredibly friendly and made her feel at ease, so she didn’t feel scared at all. I highly recommend this dental clinic.
Dr. Coffman is one of the best pediatric dentist we met. My oldest son is autistic and she(and all her staff) have a gentle way to approach him. She is so amazing who has the best heart. She converted my anxiety into "Don't worry I got you" she is such a blessing to us. Thank you!
Dr. Coffman and the staff at Duke City Pediatric Dentistry are like family to our boys and to us. They are always kind and informative and take the time to engage in meaningful discussions with our children and us as parents. Make sure to come in during October to see the amazing creativity of the staff during the pumpkin carving contest. Our boys love to vote on their favorite every year. We absolutely love it here and recommend them to anyone who ever needs a dentist for their children.
My child always has a great experience when receiving dental services from Dr Coffman and her staff. The most recent visit was just as great. Thank you very much to everyone at Duke City Pediatric Dentistry!
I absolutely love Dr. Coffman and the team at Duke City pediatric dentistry. We've been taking our four children there since they had teeth, (about 10 years) and it's always a good experience. They do especially well for children with special needs- One of our girls has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and we were really worried about finding a dentist she could be comfortable with. Duke City was highly recommended by other parents of kids with special needs, and even though we live about 30 minutes outside of Albuquerque, we decided it was worth the trip. They're able to accommodate her so well, both during the exams and with wheelchair accessible x-ray equipment. Dr. Coffman does so well with her, puts her at ease, and is able to do a great job with her teeth even though our daughter can't always control her mouth movements in the most ideal ways. All of our kids actually enjoy going to the dentist, which can be a pretty rare thing! I'm super grateful we found them when we did.
My kids have been seeing Dr. Coffman for 6+ years. She is a unicorn. She’s amazing with kids. She is gentle, patient, kind, and an incredibly competent dentist. My son had a concerning issue over Thanksgiving break, and I was able to call and leave a message for Dr. Coffman. She called me back within an hour (not that I expected that on a Saturday and holiday weekend). She walked me through what to do and was able to make an appointment to see my son the following Monday. That is so above and beyond and so appreciated 💞 My kids used to hate going to the dentist. Now they look forward to it (and getting quarters for the toy machine prizes when they don’t have cavities). As a bonus, their decor is so fun and friendly! And the kind and competent staff has decor challenges during holidays. If you’re looking for the best pediatric dentist in Albuquerque, it is Duke City Pediatric Dentistry 💯
