About Family Dental Group

Family Dental Group sits on East Glenn Street near the Tucson Medical Center campus, anchoring a stretch of medical and dental practices that serve much of the central-east side of Tucson. The clinic runs as a broad general-dentistry office — cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, basic extractions, and emergency visits — rather than a narrow specialty practice. The shape suits adults and kids who want most of their dental needs handled under one roof, with specialty referrals reserved for cases that genuinely require oral surgery or implant work.

Service coverage spans routine cleanings and exams, tooth-colored fillings, dental crowns and bridges, root canal treatment, basic extractions, gum-disease management, and tooth whitening for cosmetic refreshes. The clinic also handles same-day emergency dental visits for cracked teeth, lost crowns, or acute pain — useful when the regular calendar can't fit an urgent issue. Restorative work tends to follow a conservative-first approach, with treatment plans staged across visits rather than presented as a single all-at-once package on the first appointment.

If you're settling into central Tucson and want a generalist dental home rather than a specialty office, this is the kind of practice where a first cleaning visit is a sensible opening move.

Cost framing sits in the typical Tucson general-dentistry range, with most major insurance plans accepted and clear pretreatment estimates before restorative work begins. Patients searching for a family dentist in Tucson, general dentistry in Tucson, AZ, or a dentist for the whole family in Tucson tend to gravitate toward broad-coverage neighborhood practices like this one rather than narrow specialty offices. It suits families wanting a single dental home for kids' first cleanings, adult routine care, and the occasional restorative visit, and especially fits patients already routing other medical care through the Tucson Medical Center campus area. First-time patients usually start with a comprehensive cleaning and full-mouth exam to baseline what's there before any restorative work is scheduled. The Glenn Street location works well for residents already routing other medical visits through the Tucson Medical Center campus area, and the clinic's broad-coverage shape suits patients who'd rather have one office handle most of what a year of dental care actually involves than juggle multiple specialty referrals across the same period.

Family Dental Group on East Glenn Street, near Tucson Medical Center, runs a general-dentistry practice covering cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, and emergency dental care for the whole family.

Was in yesterday and received the best service. I haven't been to the dentist for some years with that being said they were all very compassionate and understanding from the receptionist to the dental assistant to the dentist and the hygienist. You guys are all amazing. Thank you. God bless 🙏❤️

Not good. I'm sad to say that I had a very bad experience. I had a filling put in and while it was done the bedside manner was non-existent- no one was telling me what they were going to do. Ex: they told me to open my mouth and without saying anything just injected my cheek. The heck?? I work in healthcare and that's not how things are done. We explain things to patients as we go. The filling was also very poorly done and I'm going to have to go elsewhere to fix it. Then, to top it all off, I get a bill in the mail from them 6 months later with no explanation of the charges. Extremely unimpressed with the professionalism throughout this office. Not returning.

Our kids had several visits. Went okay at first, but when it came time to book dental work for our daughter, it became a nightmare. Im a medical professional (and my wife a retired nurse and dentist) and these people had the audacity to tell me our daughter was “tough to work with” for her dental care. She is 8. And cried a little for the lidocaine(Bupivicaine) injection. As most kids do at that age and with that procedure. Don’t take your kids here as they have no proper skills with children.

We came because we knew them through our child’s school. Please just go elsewhere. They have old equipment, constant turnover of staff, and many questionable practices. We have now left. Our family of 6 began experiencing lots of small micro cavities after a little over a year here. I went to get a second opinion for one of my children and these family dental dentists did not like it. They also do many other questionable things like prescribed toothpaste and mouth guards for almost all my other family members when they were never needed before. We were with another dentist for 6 years before moving and my kids really didn’t have any cavities except one child. Anyways, I don’t think this is a good dental practice. As you can see from other reviews, they have trouble with professionalism and separating treating all people equally in the practice of dentistry.

It had been years since I last went to the dentist until about a year and a half ago. I, like most, had anxiety going into the office for the first time not knowing what to expect. To my great comfort - both Dr. Tran and Dr. Nguyen met with me to consult about a plan moving forward. We decided upon the best course of action, and then with the help of Melinda the office manager, they worked with my insurance to lowered the burden of everything being done at once. Mind you this was happening during the height of Covid-19 and I noticed every time I went into the office it was usually very busy. However, Dr. Tran and Dr. Nguyen always made an attempt to stop in to check on me as they are a husband/wife team even if I was just in for a cleaning. Sometimes it would be months in between visits yet they somehow always knew my particular case and part of the plan we happened to working on. I didn't feel as if I was just another patient of theirs as they passed their time. My concerns regarding the health of my mouth were their concerns. When it comes to the work they did I can't stress how impactful it's been on my life. Not only am I more healthy but my confidence has returned after I'm now able to smile without shame. Dr. Nguyen in particular once told me one of his "hobbies" was "dentistry." I told him that can't be a hobby since it's his life's work and passion. He followed up with "Well, I'm just a nerd about this kind of stuff. I think about it all the time and study patient files. I take pride in what I do." It shows. And his wife Dr. Tran has the best bedside manner of any dentist I've ever had. It doesn't feel like she's "doing things to you" more so than "doing things for you." It's the little things that mean a lot. I'm proud to write a Google review even though I never have before. Wishing them and their staff the best of luck moving forward.
