About Family Dental Health of Forest Acres
Family Dental Health of Forest Acres sits on Forest Drive in Columbia, providing general and family dental care that covers both children's checkups and adult restorative work. Cleanings, fillings, and checkups make up most visits, with crowns, bridges, and root canals handled here when a tooth needs more than routine care. Because the practice is built around family care rather than one specialty, you can bring a child in for a first cleaning and handle your own restorative work without switching clinics — useful when a filling today turns into a crown conversation at the next visit.
Routine dental cleanings and checkups catch tooth decay before it needs a filling, while restorative work — fillings, crowns (caps that rebuild a tooth's chewing surface), and bridges (a fixed replacement anchored to the teeth on either side of a gap) — handles damage that's set in. Gum disease treatment addresses infection along the gumline before it threatens the bone holding teeth in place, and root canal treatment removes infected tissue from inside a tooth to save it from extraction. Teeth whitening and cosmetic dentistry cover shade and shape rather than decay. When a tooth can't be saved, extractions are handled on-site, and emergency dentistry covers pain or damage that can't wait for a scheduled slot.
If you're dealing with a toothache that's gotten worse overnight, or a chipped tooth after dinner, this is the kind of clinic that treats that as an emergency rather than asking you to wait two weeks for the next opening.
What you pay depends on what the visit turns into — a cleaning and a filling are a different conversation than a bridge or a full root canal, and affordable dental care is offered for patients weighing cost. That's worth asking about early, since a small cavity caught now is usually cheaper to treat than the crown or extraction it can become if left alone. This works well as a single dental home for a family that wants cleanings, restorative work, and occasional emergencies handled in one place, rather than juggling separate specialists for each need.
Family Dental Health of Forest Acres in Columbia, South Carolina offers family dental care on Forest Drive, from cleanings and fillings to crowns, root canals, gum treatment, and emergency visits for patients of any age.

Very patient..let me talk and talk and talk. Performed the extraction very smoothly…amazed that he was able to get to the tooth… Still need to receive the implant information…cost; process… S. Bruce Butrym
I really like the service the people was very friendly and respectful, I'm looking forward to returning.
I had a great experience at Family Dental Health today. I was really nervous but Q was so kind and helped me calm down. Maria was a huge help with translating and Sara was incredibly gentle during my appointment. A big thank you to Dani the office manager. She is always so professional, helpful, and caring. The whole team made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. Highly recommend!
The entire staff is incredibly helpful and kind! The hygienist I saw Sarah was the sweetest, she’s also seen my mom who has FTD and was amazing with her! Dr. Hicklin is phenomenal as well!
Today was my first visit to the Clinton dental office and the experience was great! Everyone was so welcoming, professional and friendly. Mrs Ann, my hygienist, was very thorough as well as Dr. Childers. They gave me many pointers on taking care of my teeth as well. I have found my forever dental home. Best visit I've had since I was a kid.
My son was scheduled to have his wisdom teeth out. He had a bad reaction to the sedation. While I understand it was very chaotic, we did not receive any discharge or follow-up instructions even though he did have a small incision as well as still being in an altered state when they sent us home. It was very scary and I did not know what I was supposed to do in the immediate nor to care for his pain and bleeding from the incision. The staff was kind but I would have appreciated much more support and information.
I came in for a cleaning and Janelle was absolutely fantastic! She made me calm and extremely helpful and informative. I had some issues at a previous dental office and was a bit apprehensive. Not after talking to her!!! The dentist was so sweet. Sorry forgot her name….But she was very friendly and not dry like a lot of dentists are. She also was very informative and made me feel at ease!!
