About UHealth Don Soffer Clinical Research Center

East 25th Street at 750, Hialeah FL 33013, is a shared campus address in northern Hialeah that carries both the UHealth Don Soffer Clinical Research Center (this entry) and the UF Health Hialeah Dental Center (applied separately in this database). The two entries reflect the complex healthcare landscape at this address: UHealth is the University of Miami Health System, while UF Health is the University of Florida Health System — two distinct academic health networks with a shared presence at the 750 E 25th Street campus in northern Hialeah ZIP 33013.

The UHealth Don Soffer Clinical Research Center bears the name of a prominent South Florida real estate developer and philanthropist whose major gift funded the University of Miami Health System's research facilities. The "Clinical Research Center" designation indicates a facility where clinical research trials and academic health services intersect — providing patient care within the framework of University of Miami academic medicine.

Dental services at a UHealth clinical research facility operate within the University of Miami academic medicine context, which differs from a private practice in important ways. Patient-provider relationships may include student or resident dentists under faculty supervision, consistent with the academic training mission of the University of Miami health system. For patients in Hialeah who qualify for UHealth services, the academic health environment provides access to the diagnostic resources and specialist consultations available within a major research university health system.

The Hialeah ZIP 33013 community in northern Miami-Dade is a predominantly Cuban-American working-class city — one of Florida's largest and most densely Hispanic municipalities — where academic health system presence provides an access layer for households that benefit from the reduced costs and academic resources that university-affiliated dental care can offer.

For patients in northern Hialeah and the surrounding communities of ZIP 33013 seeking dental services under the UHealth (University of Miami) system at this East 25th Street campus, the UHealth Don Soffer Clinical Research Center at 750 E 25th Street — co-located with the UF Health Hialeah Dental Center at the same address — provides that university health system access point.

UHealth Don Soffer Clinical Research Center, 750 E 25th St, Hialeah FL 33013 — University of Miami Health dental access; dual-listed at same address as UF Health Hialeah Dental Center (ID 2599).

I had two appointments for an evaluation, and then they were supposed to meet to analyze the case. When they were supposed to "present" the case to me, I went to the appointment, and on the same day, they said they couldn't see me (even though I had received five text messages and calls five days prior asking me to confirm the appointment). If you have the time and patience, you might want to consider this dental service.

I took my time writing this review because this is more than a review — it is a testimony. I am a stage 4 colon cancer conqueror through Christ Jesus. After 36 rounds of aggressive chemotherapy while wearing braces, every tooth in my mouth decayed. My teeth rotted, broke off, and turned black. I was told “no” by multiple dental offices. My situation looked hopeless. But I serve a mighty God. I called out to God with a problem, and He answered my faith. A sister in Christ referred me to UF AEGD Hialeah. When I explained my situation to the office manager, Maybell Perez, she said something I will never forget: “Yes, we will help you.” It was the first time I heard yes. The relief I felt was overwhelming. She listened with compassion and care. As a young woman with broken and discolored teeth, my self-esteem suffered deeply. But God told me to keep smiling because He gave me a reason to smile. Christ within me has been my strength. Dr. Yakelin Moustarih,DDS and her assistants welcomed me with warmth and gentleness. They made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. This did not feel like just a job to them — it felt like a calling. They told me they wanted to restore my smile, and I truly believe they mean it. This is the first dental office that said yes. The first office where I experienced this level of compassion and care. I am living in the midst of an answered prayer. I highly recommend this office — even for children — because of the level of care they provide. Thank you for helping restore more than my smile. You restored hope through Jesus Christ. God is always in the math, Zykeisha Destin

Terrible front staff, been nothing but issues and they never answer the phone. I’ve been calling for 3 days to reschedule my appointment, no answer and no call back. Such a shame because the drs are great

Dr. Daviarlys David Then, DDS is the doctor that sees my wife there. Between my interactions and my wife’s interactions with Dr. Davi, we can honestly say that he is top notch! He is kind, gentle, patient and actually listens to your concerns and then actually explains his treatment plan. He is not afraid to take on any challenge to save teeth. She has been a patient at UF for many years now and I can honestly say that he is a real gem!

Unfortunately, this office is being run in an unprofessional manner. It no longer maintains the high level of professionalism it once had. The office manager appears to lack effective control over her staff. It is disappointing, as the students should not have to suffer due to this mismanagement—especially considering the substantial cost they already pay to graduate from the institution.

It was my first time visiting UF Health Hialeah Dental Center, and I was welcomed with such compassion and care. I had been experiencing excruciating gum pain, and by incredible luck, they were able to fit me in that same day! Now, I recommend everyone make an appointment in advance. Don’t wait for an emergency to see them, because they’re truly exceptional. I was treated by Dr. Andre Agama and his team. I left feeling relieved and grateful, and I look forward to continuing to support the wonderful people who make this place so outstanding.

I went to this clinic today for the first time, and despite reading some negative reviews, I had a wonderful experience! The front desk girlies were extremely nice and attentive. Dr. David was so wonderful and informative. I’m usually terrified of the dentist, but he definitely put me at ease. The waiting time wasn’t bad at all, and the prices are affordable for those in need of dental care. Highly recommend!
